Out of more than 60 applicants we are proud to announce that we (Amsterdam) made it to the final 6 local goods companies to be awarded the Amsterdam made certificate. The certificate is granted to products that adhere to the core principles of the Amsterdam Made foundation of: creativity, innovation, sustainability and craftsmanship.

Last Friday we were invited to the old navy quarters (Marine terrein) in Amsterdam. This seemed to be the only apt location to receive our certificate as this is where in the Golden Age all ships were being built to protect to fleet of Lowlanders trying to navigate the world. About amsterdam made.
The idea to establish Amsterdam Made was created by a small group of local makers. Soon after the first steps were made there was a lot of interest in the project, which quickly garnered more than forty members. The initiative turned out to be a good fit for Amsterdam Council’s search for a business that would create and uphold a quality mark for products created or made in the metropolitan area of Amsterdam. Foundation Amsterdam Made is the only approved certifier of the quality mark, which was established to stimulate craftmanship and the local economy. More info can be found here.
