Lowlander Beer Co. respects your privacy. We therefore only process data that we need for (improving) our services, such as the webshop or the newsletter, and we handle the information we have collected about you and your use of our services with care.

This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services provided by Lowlander Beer Co. This policy explains how we may use information that we may collect about you, as well as your rights over any personal information we hold about you and with whom and under what conditions this data can possibly be shared with third parties. We also explain to you how we store your data and how we protect your data against misuse and what rights you have with regard to the personal data you provide us. By accessing this Website, buying online or receiving our newsletter you confirm to have understood this policy.

INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT FROM YOU

You must not provide us with your personal information if you are not of legal age to purchase alcohol in the jurisdiction in which you reside and (if different) in the jurisdiction in which you are accessing the Website(s). We do not intend to collect personal information from any individuals under the legal purchase age, or to market alcoholic beverages to anyone under the legal purchase age. If we receive notice or believe that someone under the legal purchase age has provided us with personal information we will make every reasonable effort to remove such personal information from our files, or to flag such personal information and (to the extent permitted by law) retain it for the sole purpose of ensuring that it is no longer used. It is your choice to provide us with personal information. We will only collect personal information that you choose to provide. This includes personal information you provide us with:
  • when registering with our Website(s), contacting us, completing surveys or questionnaires, entering competitions, promotions or events sponsored by us, and posting information on public areas of our Website(s);

Sometimes, we will give you the option to choose whether you would like to receive information from us or not (e.g. by choosing to opt in or opt out of receiving emails from us with news about our brands or promotional offers). However, you will sometimes not have the option to opt out, such as when we are satisfying the obligations of a contract with you, or administering a transaction requested by you.
  2. Webshop

Our webshop was developed with software from WooCommerce, we have chosen Hobo Online for our webhosting. Personal data that you make available to us for the benefit of our services will be shared with this party.

  1. Hobo Online

Hobo Online has access to your data to provide us (technical) support, they will never use your data for any other purpose. Hobo Online is obliged to take appropriate security measures based on the agreement we have made with them. These security measures consist of the application of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Backups are regularly made to prevent data loss.

  1. WooCommerce

Our webshop is developed with software from WooCommerce, we host our webshop on its own server in management and maintenance at Hobo Online. Hobo Online has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent abuse, loss and corruption of data as much as possible. These security measures consist in any case of the application of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Structural backups are made to prevent loss of data.

  1. Web hosting

We take webhosting services from Hobo Online. Hobo Online processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party can collect metadata about the use of the services. These are not personal data. Hobo Online has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent loss and unauthorized use of your personal data. Hobo Online is obliged to observe secrecy on the grounds of the agreement.

  1. E-mail and mailing lists

We send our e-mail newsletters with MailChimp. MailChimp will never use your name and e-mail address for their own purposes. At the bottom of every e-mail sent automatically via our website you will see the ‘unsubscribe’ link. If you unsubscribe with this link, our newsletter will no longer be received. Your personal data is stored securely by MailChimp. MailChimp uses cookies and other internet technologies that make it clear whether e-mails are opened and read. MailChimp reserves the right to use your data for the further improvement of the services and to share information with third parties.

  1. Google Mail

We use the services of Google Mail for our regular business e-mail traffic. This party has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent abuse, loss and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. Google Mail has no access to our mailbox and we treat all our email traffic confidentially.

  1. Payment processors

We use the Sisow platform to handle a (part of) the payments in our webshop. Sisow processes your name, address and residence details and your payment details such as your bank account or credit card number. Sisow has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Sisow reserves the right to use your data to further improve the service and to share (anonymised) data with third parties. All the above-mentioned safeguards with regard to the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Sisow’s services for which they engage third parties.

  1. Shipping and logistics – Post NL

If you place an order with us, it is our job to have your package delivered to you. We use the services of PostNL for the execution of the deliveries. It is therefore necessary that we share your name, address and residence details with PostNL. PostNL uses this information only for the purpose of executing the agreement. In the event PostNL engages subcontractors, PostNL will also make your data available to these parties.

  1. Shipping and logistics – DHL

If you place an order with us, it is our job to have your package delivered to you. We use the services of DHL to carry out the deliveries. It is therefore necessary that we share your name, address and residence details with DHL. DHL only uses this information for the purpose of executing the agreement. In the event that DHL engages subcontractors, DHL also makes your details available to these parties.

COOKIES

  1. We may also obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit (Cookies). Cookies can’t harm your computer and we don’t store personally identifiable information, but we do use encrypted information gathered from them to help improve your experience of the Website(s) and to deliver a better and more personalised service.

WHERE WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Any payment transactions are encrypted using SSL technology, and payment details are not kept following completion of the transaction. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
