Warmed beer has been around for centuries and from the 1500-1800s, it was actually the preferred way of enjoying beer in taverns. So forget hot chocolate or tea, we have something much better when it is freezing outside: our sweet, comforting Mulled Winter Ale recipe will warm you up on any cold winter night.

  • 2 oranges, cut in slices with cloves stuck in
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 star anise
  • 10 allspice berries
  • 1L Lowlander Winter Ale

Combine all ingredients in a pan. Gently simmer on a low heat until warm. The Mulled Beer should not be hotter than 70 degrees or it will become bitter. Pour into heat resistent glasses.
