BOTANICAL BRUT

STORY

Bring out the Brut.

Usually, the casual clink of beer bottles perfectly captures the mood. Sometimes, however, you need to hear the pop of a cork to get the celebration started. Time for something completely new: using a combination of grapes, spruce needles, Riesling yeast & hops, we’ve created a celebration drink that’s part wine, part Champagne, part botanical beer, with gooseberry aromas, a fruity, citrus palate, a bone-dry finish & (of course) plenty of fizz. Time to pour a glass of botanically brewed bubbly brut.

INSPIRATION

We thought it was time for something new: part botanical beer, part wine, part Champagne (although the French would sue us for using the C word). Celebrate with this festive 75cl bottle full of fizz.

DRY SPARKLING, SAUVIGNON FRUITINESS AND PINE CITRUS
BREWED WITH

Grapes
Some champagne inspired noble Riesling yeast gives our Botanical brut a subtle fruitiness. Riesling is known for its flowery aromas, and is used to make dry, semi-sweet, sweet and sparkling white wines.

Spruce needles
Not quite a vegetable and not quite an herb, spruce may be an unconventional ingredient found in beer. But spruce beer goes way back and this intriguing botanical delivers all kinds of interesting characteristics to our Botanical Brut.

FOOD PAIRING

The Lowlander approach to beer and food pairing is simple: beer is even better with food and food is even better with beer.

Our Limited Edition Botanical Brut is a combination of botanicals like fine grapes and spruce needles for gooseberry and citrus flavours; some champagne inspired noble Riesling yeast for subtle fruitiness and Nelson Sauvin hops for those typical Sauvignon Blanc-inspired aromas. Not to forget the bone-dry finish and (of course) plenty of fizz. Perfect as apéritif, on it’s own, the brut and the bubble finish cuts through any fat like charcuterie and creamy cheeses like oven baked camembert.
