In 2016, Lowlander decided to bring its’ beers back to nature, hosting a series of pop-up dinners in green spaces from an experimental green‘house’ in Rotterdam to one of the oldest Botanical gardens, in Amsterdam. We worked with plant conservationists, sustainable lifestylers and creative chefs to showcase the extensive use of herbs, spices, peels, fruits, barks, leaves and the flavours coming from these botanicals.

With its botanical based dishes, beers and other drinks, the Botanical Brewkitchen not only opens up the minds and palates of likeminded explorers but also brings attention to the importance of sustainable farming, foraging and gardening.

    Lowlander Botanical Brew Kitchen

    Our own Botanical Brewkitchen

Based on our experience with hosting intimate beer & food pairing dinners and the response of those who have visited, we have started to dream about having our own permanent restaurant in Amsterdam where you can come and visit us.

As the name suggests this is the place where we put everything botanical in a starring role and where we pay affectionate homage to the wanderlust of the Lowlanders. In 2017 we got very close to realising this dream, being a runner up at the ‘Nationale Restaurant Pitch’, organised by Horecava, the largest Dutch food service event for professionals. Pitching was a great adventure and a steep learning curve at the same time. A year after the pitch Horecava gave us the opportunity to host our own 150m2 Botanical Brewkitchen and we can asure you: that tasted morish.

Until we have found our perfect site, we will continue to host intimate pop up dinner series. If you think you can help us to realise the dream of our very own Botanical Brewkitchen in any way – as a chef, partner or any other capacity – please let us know.
