51 days, 16 hours and 59 minutes ago our government announced all bars, cafes and restaurants had to close until further notice. To be honest: the first few weeks after the announcement were tough. But also full of positive vibes! Getting ready and ‘fit to fight back’, the first action we took is to pick up our phones and call all our customers. To ask how they were doing, to support them and to wish them strength. Digital tasting sessions were set up and we joined forces with many to support their delivery initiatives.

Lowlander Botanical Brew Bar on tour

Impressed by the ideas, energy and enthusiasm in the hospitality industry, end of March we decided to give them a big shout out and thank you (in the end we depend on the industry as well) by traveling through The Lowlands with our Botanical Brew Bar. Simply because we understand bartenders are missing their tap, so why not bring our tap to them?

In 6 days, our Botanical Brew Bar visited over 150 bartenders in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Amersfoort, Rotterdam, The Hague and Breda. All eager to recall how good it feels to pour (and taste) your own fresh, cold beer. Being ‘on the road’ again felt good but the biggest reward: all those happy bartenders! Check this video for an impression:

Fit to fight back

To support the hospitality industry and bartenders is not just very logical to us but also a very important action on our ‘fit to fight back’ action plan. Following some serious crisis management with the team we have agreed on 6 actions to come out the other end of this crisis stronger and fit to fight (back):

  1. Upweighted Training & Development of our crew
  2. Support the hospitality industry and bartenders
  3. Action our commitment to (consistent) quality
  4. Make it easier for people stuck at home to buy Lowlander in retail and our webshop
  5. Help accounts sell more through joint activations & promotions
  6. Bring our exciting innovation initiatives forward

We’re committed and can’t wait to see hospitality doors open again. Ready for business, serving your guests a fresh, cold Lowlander (or two). See you soon!
